Socket for June 2005

Hi everyone!

We very proudly announce that Socket is turning ONE!

Big-up to founder Nicola Cox of Tanker Creative who kick-started Socket a year ago with Emma Boyd, who now lives up north. It’s due to Nicola’s vision and continuing hard work we can meet monthly in a relaxed environment to hear from a specialist speaker, as well as share tips and support each other in the big old world of business.

This month, we’ve got just the thing to warm up winter: our BIRTHDAY PARTY. Expect at least cake! Plus we introduce one hot line-up of speakers ahead.

June’s speaker: Claire Regnault on The New Cool at The Dowse

Whatever your line of work, you’ll have realised just how creative setting up a business is. After all, you’re making something out of nothing. So, this month’s meeting is all about celebrating creative entrepreneurship.
Come along and hear about The New Cool, a fantastic new exhibition that’s just opened at art museum The Dowse.
We’re lucky enough to be learning more from the co-curator of the exhibition, Claire Regnault. Claire is Programmes Developer at The Dowse, and will be giving us the inside information on setting up the show, as well as some insight into the very funky New Zealand companies it features and their paths to business success.
Once again, we’re meeting at our gorgeous new venue: the beautiful world of Beau Monde Lounge Bar. With its fireplace and luxurious interior it’s the perfect place to be on a chilly evening. Bonnie’s delectable Bailey’s Hot Chocolate and Kahlua Mochaccino just have to be some of the best winter warmers in Wellington!

Tuesday 21 June 2005
